Linguistic VIKOR method for project evaluation of ambient intelligence product In general, when enterprises select new projects involving ambient intelligence products, they should consider the perfor‑ mance of these products. Novel ambient intelligence products may generate some external economy or diseconomy to the existing ambient intelligence products of an enterprise and its competitors. This research presents a systematic method by combining social relation analysis with linguistic VIKOR to simultaneously evaluate and select a new project involving ambient intelligence products in accordance with the overall performance of a new product and the degree of influence of this product on the existing ambient intelligence products. Based on the proposed method, decision makers can reasonably select the most promising project of an ambient intelligence product because the selected project will possess enough competitive ability and display sufficient ability to generate overall profit for the enterprise. A case example will be examined to illustrate the computational processes of the proposed method. Finally, the conclusion and future research directions will be discussed.
