Internal waves travelling behind a rapidly moving localized disturbance in a horizontally... The problem of a remote field of internal waves generated behind a localized disturbance moving within a layer of finite thickness, with large Froud' density number and weak horizontal stratification inhomogeneity is resolved. The paper uses an approach involving a two-dimensional non-stationary description of the generated internal wave field and the methods of geometrical optics. Abstract

The problem of a remote field of internal waves generated behind a localized disturbance moving within a layer of finite thickness, with large Froud' density number and weak horizontal stratification inhomogeneity is resolved.
