The author describes the activities of the Sukhologki Refractory Works, whose purpose is to increase its sales
of competitive products, expand the product range of high-temperature materials, introduce innovative tech
nologies, establish mutually beneficial relations with customers, develop new kinds of highly refractory
heat-insulating fibrous materials and products, expand the list of dense and heat-insulating refractory con
cretes. The joint venture of the Sukholozhskii Refractory Works and the Thermal Ceramics will enable the
company to take a better position and become the leader among the Russian producers of heat-insulated mate
rials and products.
The Sukholozhskii Refractory Works pays great atten-
tion to improving the technology of high-temperature
heat-insulating materials and products used as heat insulation
in heating furnaces, in blast furnace air-heaters, bell-type fur-
naces, teeming and tundish ladles, ladle heating and drying
stands (Fig. 1), lid lining of teeming and tundish ladles
(Fig. 2), heat insulation of thermal containers for transport-
ing ingots. The specialists of the company have developed
various schemes of lining, which give the optimal combina
tion of low weight, insignificant heat accumulation, and high
The company produces products from mullite-silica ma-
terial that have been successfully tested at ferrous metallurgi-
cal companies: heat-insulating inserts (Fig. 3) to insulate the
