The components of a guniting mixture (clay and chamotte) and their optimum proportion have been determined in working out the process of guniting necks of hot-metal transfer ladles. The use of guniting increases the service life of the linings of the ladles, decreases the specific consumption of refractories, and reduces the frequency of maintenance of the top layers.
