GRIPP2 checklists guide PPI evidence reporting PharmacoEconomics & Outcomes News 784, p18 - 12 Aug 2017 GRIPP2 checklists guide PPI evidence reporting Guidance for Reporting Involvement of Patients and the Public-long form (GRIPP2-LF) and -short form (GRIPP2-SF) checklists have been developed to improve the patient and public involvement (PPI) evidence base, say UK-based authors of a study published in Research Involvement and Engagement. Researchers aimed to develop international consensus on the key items to report to enhance the quality, transparency, and consistency of the PPI evidence base, and involved patients in the development of GRIPP2. Using the EQUATOR method for developing guidelines for outcomes reporting, the original GRIPP checklist was revised based on evidence from an updated systematic review. Responses from a Delphi survey were used to develop consensus on outcomes to be included in GRIPP2. Participants of the Delphi survey included researchers, funders, patients, carers, editors, and individuals from international research agencies from countries including Australia, Canada, Europe and the US. In total, 143 participants participated in round one of the Delphi survey, and 83% and 78% of these participants, respectively, took part in rounds two and three. Based on responses, two GRIPP2 versions were developed.
