Chem
Here we report an efficient and green synthesis of biscoumarin derivatives catalyzed by CuO–CeO2 nanocomposite catalyst in water. A variety of aromatic aldehydes reacted with 4-hydroxycoumarin to afford the biscoumarin derivatives with good yields and short reaction times. The catalyst can be recovered by simple filtration and recycled up to five consecutive runs without any significant loss in its activity.
