The Canniesburn Practical Course on the Use of Flaps in Reconstructive Plastic Surgery (in conjunction with Canniesburn Microsurgical Workshops 1997 the Department of Anatomy, University of Glasgow) Microsurgical workshops are run throughout the year. At The course will consist of practical anatomical dissection, each course, up to four candidates are taught the basis of lectures, demonstrations and panel discussions covering a anastomosis. The workshops are practical, with every variety of reconstructive techniques including skin flaps, candidate having an up to date operating microscope to muscle flaps, musculocutaneous flaps and free tissue operate on vessels, nerves and fallopian tubes. Tutors and transfer. The emphasis will be on the surgical anatomy and videos are always present. The laboratory being situated technical aspects of raising and using flaps in various parts within the Plastic Surgery Unit at Canniesburn Hospital also of the body. Participation is limited to 40 people and the allows access to the operating theatres there to observe free course fee will be £ 700, not including accommodation, tissue transfer another microsurgical procedures being which will be available on application. This course is CME carried out in clinical practice.
