Forming limit diagram of aluminum/copper bi-layered tubes by bulge test In this paper, a procedure has been proposed to design proper experimental bulge tests in order to determine the forming limit diagram (FLD) of the bi-layered tube. The hydro-bulging of an aluminum/copper bi-layered tube has been simulated by ABAQUS finite element software. After validation of the FE model, the effects of process parameters (bulge width, die radius, and loading path) on the created strain path have been investigated. Then, by choosing appropriate levels of process parameters, a number of experiments have been designed and carried out in order to achieve the uniform distribution of limit strains in the principal strain plane. Finally, the FLD of the bi-layered tube has been plotted using obtained limit strains. The International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology Springer Journals
