The errata are numbered, classified as Substantive, Editorial or Clarification and listed in reverse chronological order of their date of publication. Known Errors Substantive A Brief History of Behavioral and Cognitive Behavioral Approaches to Sexual Offenders: Part 1. Early Developments, Laws, D. R., and Marshall, W. L., there is an error on page 78, second paragraph. The citation of James (1990) should read (1890). Clarification A Brief History of Behavioral and Cognitive Behavioral Approaches to Sexual Offenders: Part 1. Early Developments, Laws, D. R., and Marshall, W. L., there is an error on page 98 under the heading “Conferences” and includes two sentences beginning “The Memphis conference was the first in a series:::” and ending with the sentence “This melded group:::” The following represents the correction to these two sentences: The Memphis conference was the first in a series funded by Abel’s grants. The last of the NIMH-funded conferences occurred in Tampa, Florida in February, 1986, and occurred as a part of a grant awarded to Richard Laws. These gatherings were to form the basis for ATSA’s annual conferences. In 1987 The Association for the Behavioral Treatment of Sexual Aggressives organized the first conference independent from the NIMH-funded conferences inviting, among others, those who had attended the previous conferences funded by NIMH. Later the word “Behavioral” was dropped to reflect the broader approaches of many members. Attendance at subsequent ATSA conferences grew over the years until in 2000, when more than 1,600 attended.
