ENERGY CHARACTERISTICS OF THE HYDROACOUSTIC FIELD IN
A NONUNIFORM MARINE MEDIUM WITH A CYLINDRICAL BODY
FLOATING ON THE SURFACE

By using the hydroacoustic field generated by a point source in a nonuniform marine medium
with a cylindrical body floating on the surface and determined as a solution of the corresponding
problem by the method of partial domains, we study the energy characteristics of the near and far
fields. The asymptotics capable of improving the accuracy of calculations is proposed for the
analysis of the posed problem for an infinite system of linear algebraic equations. We also pre-
sent some results of numerical calculations for some special cases and their comparative analysis
in the case of variation of the parameters of a waveguide within the ranges typical of the coastal
zone of the sea.
In the process of propagation of sound in actual marine media, acoustic waves interact with various objects
and, as a result, the wave process is accompanied by the dissipation of wave energy on inhomogeneities. In stu-
dying irregular hydroacoustic waveguides, it is of great interest to determine the characteristics of the process of
energy transfer along the path.
By using the analytic form of the solution obtained by the method of partial domains , one can signifi-
cantly simplify the investigation of the energy characteristics of acoustic fields. Thus, in particular, the process
of transformation of the energy of incident waves in a composite elastic waveguide is studied in . The energy
characteristics of waves incident onto the zone of conjugation of flat and wedge-shaped waveguides, reflected
from this zone, and passing through it are studied in .
In , the problem of construction of the hydroacoustic field generated by a point source in a nonuniform

Statement of the Problem
Consider the characteristics of propagation of sound generated by a point harmonic source in a waveguide
containing a cylindrical rigid body floating on the surface (Fig.
1). As a model of acoustic medium, we use the
model of ideal compressible fluid. In this medium, the harmonic problem of radiation is described by the
following Helmholtz equation:
