Effect of hot isostatic pressing on the mechanical properties of transformation-strengthened... The effect of hot isostatic pressing (HIP) on the elastic moduli, strength, and toughness of as-sintered transformation-strengthened zirconium—alumina ceramics was studied. It was established that HIP produces a positive effect on the properties of ceramics provided that the process is carried out at a moderate temperature in a furnace with molybdenum heaters.
