Weinstein Published online: 31 March 2016 © Springer Science+Business Media New York 2016 Dear Readers of Quantum Information Processing, Continuing our efforts to best serve our readers and the scientific community, I am happy to announce a new feature in Quantum Information Processing. In this Issue we proudly publish our first Letter. Letters to Quantum Information Processing are concise articles reserved for the most timely and highly qualified work in the field of Quantum Information. Authors will be asked to justify why their submission should be considered as a Letter, and reviewers will be asked to comment on the timeliness and importance of the results. Letters should be less than 12 pages (not including references) and may include Supplementary Material. In addition, any paper accepted as a Letter will be granted Free Access for two months and advertised in the journal Table of Contents and on social media. Our first Letter is co-authored by Jason M. Dominy and Editorial Board Member Daniel A. Lidar and is entitled “Beyond complete positivity.” It provides “a general and consistent formulation for linear subsystem quantum dynamical maps.” I urge you to take the time to learn about this fascinating development and its implications for Quantum Information. I look forward to receiving your manuscripts and hope to continue to find improved ways to serve our readers, reviewers and authors.
