Ecological and Geographical Divergence and Interpopulation Variability of the Masu Salmon Oncorhynchus masou As Illustrated by Populations from Primorye and Sakhalin

Ecological and Geographical Divergence and Interpopulation Variability of the Masu Salmon... The geographical and ecotypical differentiation of masu salmon populations is analyzed based on the study of the scale structure and other biological characteristics of fish from different rivers of Primorye and Sakhalin. The possibility of identification of different populations (during the sea life period as well) using the indicated characteristics is discussed. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Russian Journal of Marine Biology Springer Journals

Abstract

The geographical and ecotypical differentiation of masu salmon populations is analyzed based on the study of the scale structure and other biological characteristics of fish from different rivers of Primorye and Sakhalin. The possibility of identification of different populations (during the sea life period as well) using the indicated characteristics is discussed.
