Dynamic measurements in supercritical flow using instantaneous phase-shift interferometry A high-speed, high-resolution interferometer was constructed on the basis of four-channel phase-shift acquisition, real-time phase detection, unwrapping and profile-fitting image processing. This instrument was applied for visualisation of the mixing process between supercritical carbon dioxide and ethanol solvent above mixture critical pressure, at high Reynolds numbers. The instantaneous phase distribution and time-averaged concentration profiles in the jet have been obtained. Abstract

A high-speed, high-resolution interferometer was constructed on the basis of four-channel phase-shift acquisition, real-time phase detection, unwrapping and profile-fitting image processing. This instrument was applied for visualisation of the mixing process between supercritical carbon dioxide and ethanol solvent above mixture critical pressure, at high Reynolds numbers. The instantaneous phase distribution and time-averaged concentration profiles in the jet have been obtained.
