Abstract

Fragments of mtDNA from two greenling species, Hexagrammos octogrammusand H. agrammus, and their possible hybrids were amplified in PCR and examined using RFLP analysis. The inferred sequence difference between the species was 6.6%, which corresponds to about 3 Myr of their divergence. The reproductive contribution of males and females to the hybrids was estimated.
