Chalcogenate-bridged heterometallic complexes containing tricarbonyl rhenium combined with cymene... The reaction of Re(CO)3(THF)2Cl with (Cymen)RuCl2 (Cymen = p-methyl-iso-propylbenzene) in benzene gave the known heterometallic complex (Cymen)Ru(μ-Cl)3Re(CO)3 (I), which was converted to the heterometallic complex (Cymen)Ru(μ-S-tert-Bu)3Re(CO)3 (II) on treatment with tert-butylmercaptan and triethylamine. Treatment of I with sodium tellurophenolate in THF results in the formation of the ionic complex [(Cymen)Ru(μ-TePh)3Ru(Cymen)]+[(CO)3Re(μ-TePh)3Re(CO)3]− (III) with homobinuclear cation and anion.
