A formula is derived for calculating the wave number at which the highest rate of perturbationbuild-up is observed in relation to the Reynolds number. The diameter of drops appearing in spontaneousdisintegration of a fluid jet into drops, the time elapsed from the appearance of a perturbation till the fluidjet disintegration into drops are plotted as functions of the Reynolds number.
