All are or were on the faculty of Hunter College ‚ representing a wide variety of fields: anthropology‚ art history‚ classics‚ com- parative and cultural politics‚ educational foundations ‚ history‚ philosophy‚ psychology‚ and last but not least‚ women s studies. According to the Pref- ace‚ each of the chapters was written by the Collective as a whole in order to give the book a truly interdisciplinary perspective. The nine authors are Ulku Bate s‚ Florence Denmark‚ Virginia Held‚ Dorothy Helly‚ Shirle y Hune ‚ Susan Lees‚ Sarah Pomeroy‚ Carolyn Somerville ‚ and Sue Rosenberg Zalk.
