The organization of the book – with seven sections, 35 chapters, 718 pages and 70 contributors – facilitates the reader in understanding the concepts and theoretical approaches. Particularly useful are the introductions of each section which highlight the key contributions of the specific chapter, explain the main theories and integrate narratives about each section as a whole. Similar to the previous editions of the Handbook (Bengtson et al. 2009; Bengtson and Schaie 1999), this volume proposes theoretical and conceptual development in research on ageing, contributing to the debate across and within a multitude of disciplines: biology, psychology, social sciences, policy, intervention and practice. In addition, this edition gives a greater emphasis on a wider range of health outcomes and http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Journal of Population Ageing Springer Journals
