Reactions 1704, p64 - 2 Jun 2018 O S Various toxicities: case report A 27-year-old man developed unresponsive state, respiratory failure after an attempted suicide following baclofen intoxication [time to reaction onsets not stated]. The man was admitted to the emergency department after he was found in an unresponsive state. He had attempted suicide by taking 850mg of baclofen, 2.5 litres of beer and heroine. After heteroanamnesis, he was diagnosed with baclofen intoxication. He developed respiratory failure and was intubated. He received treatment with a laxative, activated charcoal and other drugs to avoid withdrawal symptoms. Subsequently, his condition improved and he was extubated 60 hours after admission.
