An unusual fracture line in the midface

An unusual fracture line in the midface LeFort lines of fracture in the midface follow predictable paths with minimal variation. These represent inherent structural weaknesses of the craniofacial skeleton. A very unusual midface fracture is presented. This did not conform to the more classic pattern and has not been previously reported. The exact cause of this is not known. Abstract

LeFort lines of fracture in the midface follow predictable paths with minimal variation. These represent inherent structural weaknesses of the craniofacial skeleton. A very unusual midface fracture is presented. This did not conform to the more classic pattern and has not been previously reported. The exact cause of this is not known. Bony resorption in the maxilla and palate is a possible reason.
