Sex Abuse (2006) 18:231 DOI 10.1007/s11194-006-9023-2 EDITORIAL Howard Barbaree Published online: 27 July 2006 C Springer Science+Business Media, Inc. 2006 Through the auspices of our publisher Springer, Sexual Abuse: A Journal of Research and Treatment has implemented a web-based manuscript manager. Since April 1, 2006, all manuscripts submitted to the journal have been required to be uploaded by authors into the manuscript manager. We are hoping to include most 2006 manuscripts in the new web-based process. For authors wishing to submit a manuscript to our journal, please go to: https://www. editorialmanager.com/sebu/ The web-site requires authors to register and provides them with a username and password. Then, authors follow the very straightforward instructions to upload their manuscripts. We believe that the web-based system will improve our journal in a number of ways. First, we believe that the new system will speed the process of editorial review. Second, the system automates the calculation of statistics that reflect the quality of the journal such as rejection rates, time to disposition, time to publication, etc. Third, we believe the new system will be welcomed by authors. So far, authors have been very complementary about the new system. Most have found it very easy to use. Importantly, authors can use the new system to follow the progress of their manuscript through the editorial and review process. Hopefully, this will reduce the need for authors to follow-up with the Managing Editor when editorial decisions seem to be late. I trust you will find the new system an improvement.
