Reactions 1664, p15 - 12 Aug 2017 Various toxicities: case report An 81-year-old woman developed hypotension, paleness and spontaneous haematoma with complete mammary necrosis and fatal multiple organ failure due to acenocoumarol [durations of treatment to reaction onsets not stated; not all outcomes stated]. The woman, who had a history of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, started receiving acenocoumarol [route and dosage not stated]. She presented with hypotension, paleness and a spontaneous haematoma on the right breast. An analysis revealed haemoglobin of 7.9 mg/dL, leukocytes 14,200 and INR 12.58. An examination showed infected, suppurative and foul smelling necrosis in the right breast. The woman was subjected to debridement of necrotic tissue. She underwent aggressive medical surgical management, however, developed multiple organ failure with fatal outcome. Author comment: Complete mammary necrosis due to Perez-Guarinos CV, et al.
