EDITOR’SNOTES Firstandforemost,IwanttothankPatforher18yearsofservicetotheorga- nization and her dedication to making theNursing History Review the top tieredjournalfornursingandhealthcarehistorythatitis.Pat’sabilitytothink analyticallyandcommunicatethosethoughtssuccinctlyisunsurpassedandis reflectedin her editorial comments and the scope of the manuscripts that she has critiqued, edited, and published in the journal for almost two decades. A simple “thank you” seems hardly adequate. Pat, your legacy is a great one, andIwelcomethechallengetocontinuetoworkwithcolleaguesfromaround the world to document nursing and healthcare history from a diverse and inclusiveperspective. To that end, I will continue to (1) welcome the submission of the best scholarly manuscripts from the global community of historians researching nursing and healthcare history, (2) solicit manuscripts on methodology for a sectionon“DoingtheWorkofHistory,”and(3)includethesectiononbook and media reviews. In addition, I am initiating a section in the journal that is based on Dr. Barbra Wall’s recent emphasis on “Hidden Nurses.” It will be called: “Hidden in Plain Sight.” So, with this edition, I am calling for papers related to minorities in nursing and healthcare histor thosey whose voices have been silenced in the past. And, since there is often less available data on these nurses, I welcome shorter manuscripts than the Review’s guidelines currentlycallfor,perhaps1510pages. AsPathasnotedabove, itdoes“takeavillage”toproducethejournal, and I am looking forward to working closely with Drs. Anne Marie McAllister, KylieSmith,andWinifredConnertonastheycontinuetoserveassectionedi- tors. Thank you for
