BRA~DIS die Inaktivierung des Coil])hagen T 1 und eines Salm. typhimurium-Phagen durch Protamin. 1956 studierte KLECZKOWSKI das analoge Ph/~nomen bei einem RhizobiumPhagen. I n Fortfiihrung der Versuche yon FIsc~Ea u. BaA~DIs wurde zuns die Spezifit/~t der Protamininaktivierung auf die Phagen der T-Serie, die Einwirkung basischer Proteine (Protamine, tIistone und Lysozym) und der Meehanismus der Inaktivierung untersucht. Dabei ergab sich, da[t yon den Coliphagen T1 his T7 nur T1 und T5 durch Protamin inaktiviert werden, w/ihrend die beiden gepriiften Histone nur den Phagen T 1 beeinflul3ten. Lysozym war inaktiv. Durch elektronenoptisehe Aufnahmen inaktivierter Phagen sowie durch Trfibungs-, Schiittel-, Sedimentations- und Heparinversuehe konnte eine Verklumpung der Phagenpartikel unter Einwirkung des Protamins als Ursache ffir die Titerverminderung ausgeschlossen werden (GRETCHMA~ et al.). Die Inaktivierung nur yon T1 und T 5 aus der Reihe der 7 TPhagen legt den Gedanken nahe, dab das Protamin am Adsorptionsmechanismus des
