The superconducting transition temperature and its high-pressure behavior of tetragonal Nb3Sn

The superconducting transition temperature and its high-pressure behavior of tetragonal Nb3Sn The superconducting transition temperatureT C of the tetragonal phase of a Nb3Sn single crystal was determined calorimetrically to be 17.78±0.02 K. It is suppressed by the application of hydrostatic pressure at a rate of −(1.40±0.05)×10−5 K bar−1. The previous observations of double superconducting transitions in Nb3Sn and other A15 compounds are discussed. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Journal of Low Temperature Physics Springer Journals

Abstract

The superconducting transition temperatureT C of the tetragonal phase of a Nb3Sn single crystal was determined calorimetrically to be 17.78±0.02 K. It is suppressed by the application of hydrostatic pressure at a rate of −(1.40±0.05)×10−5 K bar−1. The previous observations of double superconducting transitions in Nb3Sn and other A15 compounds are discussed.
