Kh. Kudnsheva, M. A. Tsadkin, and A. D. lhdikova Along with the expansion of the worldwide automotive fieet, interest has increased in new, more efficient technologies for the production of high-octane gasoline components, in particular alkylate gasolines, by sulfuric acid alkylation of isoparaffins with olefins. The technical requirements imposed on alkylate naphthas are becoming more and more severe. One of the means for fulfilling these requirements is a basically new mechanical design of the alkylation process. Commercial reactors that are currently used have a number of shortcomings, so that it is impossible to obtain alkylate gasoline in high yields with maximum content oftrimethylpentanes. For example, vertical reactors with an ammonia refrigeration system [ I-4] are unwieldy, require large amounts of metal in their construction, and require major expenditures of energy in their operation. Further, they are unable to maintain an adequate ratio of isobutane and olefins (3-4) in the reaction zone. In tank-cascade reactors [5], if one of the sections is damaged, the operation of the entire system is disrupted: It is
