Agrinenko In recent years, the system for radioactive waste management has changed substantially, owing to the introduction of new kinds of technology, automation of the most of the technological processes, and more stringent requirements for safe func- tioning of radiation hazardous facilities, including radioactive waste disposal. This gave rise to a need for specialists to ensure successful operation. Moreover, the requirements on specialists already working are increased. Raising the competence of personnel working directly in the technological area of waste management is unquestion- ably an important task. It is just as urgent, however, to stimulate interest in the specifics of radiation-hazed production and per- sonnel not directly involved in waste reprocessing, in particular administrative-managerial staff, economists, accountants, and so forth. This increases the responsibility of the personnel in the general safety practice in enterprises engaged in radioactive waste management.
