C OVER STORY Electrification and Driver Assist Technology in the ZF Innovation Tractor ZF bundles innovative driving and assistance functions in its Innovation Tractor 2016 concept vehicle and demonstrates how driver assistance systems and electric drives can also add value for off-highway applications. The objective is to make agriculture more efficient and enhance safety. The test vehicle based on a standard tractor is equipped with cameras that monitor its surroundings. The data from these cameras is then utilised to enable the vehicle to manoeuvre semi-autonomously or via mobile devices operated outside the driver’s cab.
