Three species of the genus Ganoderma, Ganoderma resinaceum, Ganoderma pfeifferi and Ganoderma lucidum were investigated in extra- and intracellular phenoloxidases. 2. The three species only form a phenoloxidase of the type of laccase. Investigations in culture filtrates of Ganoderma lucidum , besides, point to the existence of a laccase-isoenzyme. 3. Investigations in extracts of mycelium have proved, that for the three species laccase also is formed as an endo-enzyme. 4. The formation of the enzyme shows a great dependence on the substrate. 5. The laccase, investigated by us, shows a cresolase- and a catecholase-activity (Oxidation of catechol and p-cresol).
