Abstract
[Most immune assays depend on the interaction between antigens and their specific antibodies. Because of the specificity of the reaction, the interaction between antigens and antibodies is highly utilized to identify either the antigens or the antibodies of interest. In this chapter, the characteristics of antigens, antibodies, and their interactions are described. Moreover, a description of the different and most commonly used dilution methods for serological testing, in addition to general safety rules for working in clinical laboratories, are explored.]
