Analysis of indicated efficiency of piston compressors

Analysis of indicated efficiency of piston compressors It is shown that the indicated efficiency gives an exaggerated assessment of thermodynamic perfection of the working process of piston compressors and leads to a biased estimate of mechanical losses. It is established that an alternative to the indicated efficiency is internal efficiency of the compressor. For testing compressors, it is recommended that two diagrams be plotted: indicator and force (stress). It is noted that the presence of two diagrams helps determine the internal efficiency and obtain information about frictional losses in the internal piston-cylinder liner (sleeve) system and in the external system pistonelectric motor of compressor drive. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Springer Journals

Abstract

It is shown that the indicated efficiency gives an exaggerated assessment of thermodynamic perfection of the working process of piston compressors and leads to a biased estimate of mechanical losses.
