[This chapter analyses the corrosion resistance efficacy and mechanical properties of cement polymer anticorrosive coating (CPAC) as per Indian and ASTM standards. The influence of corrosion inhibitor and 1% coating damage on corrosion resistance properties of CPAC was also studied. It was found that CPAC coated rebars possessed adequate chemical resistance. The half-cell potential test and macrocell corrosion test results revealed low corrosion risk for CPAC coated rebars. The performance ratio of 2.3–2.6 was obtained for CPAC coated rebar when exposed to accelerated corrosion. The coating damage and addition of inhibitor in concrete did not appreciably influence the performance of CPAC coated rebars in the tested duration. The bond strength values of CPAC coated rebars are in line with uncoated rebars. Impact test results revealed satisfactory performance and adhesion test results stipulated the necessity of application of CPAC after cutting and bending process. It is recommended that CPAC coated rebars can be used in small scale infrastructure projects to enhance the durability of reinforced concrete structures.]
