[Reading the rhetorrectional situation requires a practical place for a rhetor to begin. Once the visor affect grows into something more consciously troubling, the rhetor looks for a textual thread to pull to help unravel the haunting/spectral experience. This textual thread may be found in the Sophist doctrine of kairos, a concept that influenced Lloyd Bitzer’s idea of the rhetorical situation.
