The structural and operational advantages of a promising new solution to the problem of removing dust from dust-catcher bins and powder materials from silo towers in the production of refractories, namely, pipe chain conveyers (Schrage, Rohrkettensystem GmbH, Germany), are considered. The operating principle and variants of positioning, orienting, and combining the conveyers are described. A detailed technical description of various modifications of conveyers, blenders, and batchers of the Schrage firm is presented. In combination with the positive experience in using these devices at the Semiluki Refractory Works the data presented will make it possible to choose an optimum engineering solution for other related enterprises.
