Abstract

[After thirty-eight years of rapid growth since introduction of the reform and opening-up policy, China’s economy has entered a new development stage. This is especially true after the global financial crisis. With no more miraculous double-digit growth, China’s economic growth is slowing down. China is still facing strategic opportunities for economic development, and the overall trend in its economic growth remains unchanged. But China’s economy has entered a “new normal” characterized by slowdown in growth rate, adjustment of structure, and shift of growth engines.
