The theme under study is Confucianism during the Ming-Qing Period, a crucial period in the field of Chinese philosophy. The articles in this volume engage each other, implicitly or explicitly, thus constituting a relatively coherent collection. Rather than simply providing a "shopping list" of all articles and commentaries in the book, I will attempt to address several questions with regard to Confucianism in the Ming-Qing period raised in the book, and examine whether the articles in it have helped us advance our knowledge about it. As the editor of the book notes in the Epilogue, Ming-Qing as a historical period under study is a loose term which can mean the period of Inter-Ming-and-Qing Dynasties, and can even trace back from the Mid-Ming up until the Qianjia Period of the Qing Dynasty.
