Leiden, New York, Köln: Brill 1994, 161 pp.; ISBN 90­04­10050­4; cloth with dustjacket US$ 63,00. This book suffers under a serious defect. It is not as widely read and acknowledged as it deserves. There might be several reasons for that phenomenon. One is that Andersson's book, which is a substantial refinement of falsificationism and rejoinder to Popper's main critics (Kuhn, Lakatos, Feyerabend), was originally written in German and later translated into English. Another reason might be that the dispute among critical rationalists and their adversaries does not interest the peer community any longer, at least not as much as it did when the leading figures of that dispute where alive. However this may be, Andersson's book is one of the most important contributions, if not the most important contribution, to the methodological debate on falsification since Popper. Finally, a third reason could be that it is volume no. 13 of the Series Philosophy of history and culture.
