Geoffrey Hunt, Contemporary Drug Problems Board Member, Wins Major International Award Announcement Contemporary Drug Problems 2021, Vol. 48(3) 203 ª The Author(s) 2021 Geoffrey Hunt, Contemporary Article reuse guidelines: sagepub.com/journals-permissions DOI: 10.1177/00914509211034653 Drug Problems Board Member, journals.sagepub.com/home/cdx Wins Major International Award On May 28, 2021, the Board of Directors of the Jellinek Memorial Fund announced that the Jellinek Memorial Award for 2021 was to be awarded to Professor Geoffrey Hunt of the Centre for Alcohol and Drug Research, Aarhus University, Denmark. Professor Hunt is also a longstanding board member of Contemporary Drug Problems. Professor Hunt received the award for his groundbreaking impact on anthropological and inter-disciplinary research on drinking and alcohol-related problems. Professor Robin Room, a Jellinek Board Member and previous Editor of Contemporary Drug Problems, pre- sented the award at the Kettil Bruun Society’s 46th Annual Meeting in Helsinki, Finland, on June 3, 2021. A social and cultural anthropologist, Professor Hunt is the author of more than 100 peer- reviewed articles, and a renowned researcher in the field of youth studies, youth cultures and drug and alcohol research for more than 40 years. His research has explored numerous subjects, including: cross-national and cross-cultural perspectives on substance use and intoxication; gender, affect, vio- lence and intoxication; consent, sexuality and consumption; risk, pleasure and drug use; masculinity and consumption; ethnicity and substance use; drug treatment; subcultures, youth cultures and gangs. The editors and board of Contemporary Drug Problems offer Professor Hunt our warm congratulations on this prestigious award. The Board of the Jellinek Memorial Fund also wishes to announce that the Selection Committee for the 2023 award is chaired by Dr Anne-Marie Laslett, President, Kettil Bruun Society for Social and Epidemiological Research on Alcohol (KBS), Centre for Alcohol Policy Research (CAPR), School of Psychology & Public Health, La Trobe University, Bundoora, Victoria, Australia.
