The Internet-based activities are especially welcome in that they encourage students to be creative and actively learning Italian language and culture. The complete absence of English is welcome. In short, Trame is an appropriate tool that bridges language and culture courses at a time when new opportunities have presented themselves for language programs in the age of global education and diverse student populations, along with advanced technological literacy in students. The only weakness is the absence of grammar exercises, but this presumes that the student enrolled in an upper-level Italian course has already mastered the basics of Italian grammar. In conclusion, this reviewer welcomes Trame and warm- ly recommends it for its consistent presentation of material and as a sophisticated tool for advanced courses in Italian at the college / university level.
