Computed tomography in the evaluation of lesions arising in and around the sacrum

Computed tomography in the evaluation of lesions arising in and around the sacrum A wide spectrum of lesions involving the sacrum has been presented. These examples have been selected from a series of 45 patients who were examined by CT and other radiographic techniques. In many cases, CT provided important information that could not be obtained by other methods. Although CT usually does not permit one to make an exact pathological diagnosis, it is the most valuable technique for demonstrating both the intraosseous and extraosseous extent of a lesion. CT has established itself as an important new imaging modality for the evaluation of lesions in and around the sacrum. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Radiographics Radiological Society of North America, Inc.

Abstract

A wide spectrum of lesions involving the sacrum has been presented.
