Authors are drawn from different disciplinary perspectives (anthropology, psychology, sociology, and social work) to give a broad overview of the subject. The text covers three perspectives: service users, workers, and planners, and is divided into two parts: the experience of planning and the experience of being at the receiving end of the closure process. In the first section, Wainwright guides the reader through the process of closure from the point of view of a member of the resettlement team appointed to administer the closure process. This chapter offers a vivid picture of the various issues and obstacles that the resettlement team had to face, including the difficulty of maintaining the coherence of such a team. This is a useful contribution to the subject area as it is one of the few representing the management point of view of closure.
