The intention is not to give an exhaustive overview of a given study but rather to alert our readers to interesting research in our field. Jonathan N. Wand, Kenneth W. Shotts, Jasjeet S. Sekhon, Walther R. Mebane, Jr., Michael C. Herron, and Henry E. Brady, ‘The butterfly did it: The aberrant vote for Buchanan in Palm Beach County, Florida’, American Political Science Review, , :, –. The authors of this study address the anomalies in voting patterns in Palm Beach County in the US presidential election. In particular, they compare , counties in which Reform Party candidate Pat Buchanan was on the ballot. Their study produced three key findings. First, anomalies in the proportion of votes for Pat Buchanan in Palm Beach County were higher than in any other county in the US in this past election.
