Abstract Determining the effectiveness of intervention with clients is of increasing importance to social service agencies. One of the major problems is to conceptualize and measure the impact of such intervention, for which valid and reliable measures of treatment outcomes are essential. This article explores several issues in measuring outcomes and provides guidelines for agencies in selecting or developing scales that serve this purpose. This content is only available as a PDF.
