The Commission seems to be increasingly concerned about the effectiveness of national support schemes for renewable energy sources and the integration of renewable energy sources in the internal market. First, this analysis shortly recalls the legislative framework for both renewable energy support schemes and state aid (Chapter II). Subsequently, this analysis addresses support for the production of energy from renewable energy resources within the meaning of the state aid provisions of EU law. (Chapter III) Afterwards will be assessed when state aid for the production of energy from renewable energy resources is considered compatible with the internal market. Here the main focus will be on the influence of the state aid modernization that impacts the support schemes for renewable energy sources. (Chapter IV). I.
