The on-going crisis in the eastern provinces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has taken place since 1998, witnessing humanitarian disaster, violence and state instability. This issue is a cause of concern for the international community. In an attempt to solve the problem, the US has provided its legislative solution, now it is the turn of the EU authorities to propose their way on how to address this issue. This article will analyse the proposed solutions and try to answer the question: what is still missing in order to solve the conflict minerals puzzle?
