T h e State promotes this aim not only through laws and regulations, b u t more and m o r e b y its support o f other means. Among these -other means is t h e State's policy o f evaluating t h e environmental qualities o f products. T h i s evaluation is linked with t h e granting o f a special trade label, which indicates the environmental qualities o f t h e product i n question. T h i s eco-labelling is being organised b y the Ministry o f Environment. N o t only does the Ministry finance this activity, but it is also responsible for its proper functioning. T h e State is endeavouring t o bring the C z e c h system o f eco-labelling, and the principles u p o n which it operates, into line with the European U n i o n .
