The meeting was called to order by Dr. George Kimball, an active member of the Formation Committee, whose efforts had made Arden House available to us. At his suggestion, a motion was made and passed that Dr. Morse and Mr. Lathrop act pro tem as Chairman and Secretary respectively. Dr. Morse outlined the need for a new Society (see page 1) and explained that the self-established Formation Committee, which organized this meeting, had prepared a draft constitution, by-laws, and slate of proposed officers ready for action by all those present.Operations Research, ISSN 0030-364X, was published as Journal of the Operations Research Society of America from 1952 to 1955 under ISSN 0096-3984. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Journal of the Operations Research Society of America INFORMS
