Ensuring the balance of interests in the course of distributed energy networks development and increasing the share of renewable energy in the Russian Federation

Ensuring the balance of interests in the course of distributed energy networks development and... An interest in the use of renewable energy sources (RES) and fossil fuel-free facilities has massively increased across the world. At the same time, energy supply in the Russian Federation (RF) has been historically dominated by a centralised system of energy generation and distribution. Small, less powerful generation facilities do not get a direct access to the national power delivery system and represent, in fact, local energy-clusters servicing the needs of final consumers. Owing to political-administrative and technical/ technological limitations, the development of distributed energy networks in RF is slow. The aim of the research conducted is to determine the approaches to forming the scientific and methodological principles for modernising the energy generation and distribution system in RF. Abstract

Based on the balance of interests of the agents, the objectives for developed were defined. Measures to foster development of distributed energy networks and the share of renewable energy in RF were proposed. Keywords: balance of interests; RES; renewable energy sources; energy supply of the Russian Federation; RF; Russian Federation; distributed generation; the industrial ecology; sustainable development; state support of distributed generation and renewable energy sources sector; regional development.
