Wilens, M.D. 9 CME Post-Test The recent legalization of medical marijuana in many states has led to its in- creasing accessibility as a potential medical treatment in pediatric populations. As a result, there is a need among psychopharmacologists to understand the evidence base for its use as a medical treatment in children and adolescents. The purpose of this article is to systematically review the empirical literature on the medical benefits of marijuana in children and adolescent patient populations. In total, after a review of 2,744 citations, 22 articles met inclusion criteria detailing 23 studies, with a total sample of 881 participants. Six randomized controlled IMPORTANT NOTICE: This publication is intended to provide trials, 5 retrospective chart reviews, 5 case reports, 4 open-label trials, 2 parent accurate and authoritative information regarding the subject mat- ter covered.
